Government collapsing
It is saddening to note that the government can only survive from the Marange Diamonds. The government is collapsing because the diamond mine has failed to leave up to its standard and has failed to invest in the government as proposed. The mine was due to invest about 77million yet only 19.5 million has been accounted for. It is clear that the mine is engulfed in controversies and has put the ordinary civil servant at risk of not being paid. It is also of concern to note that the government is heavily dependent on the diamonds. They may be the hot cake at the moment but it also signifies the fact that the industrial sector is crumbling. The government cannot collapse because of a single entity where are the other sectors, entities? The government survived without the diamond, and to note it was even better, because the diamonds have caused more conflicts and corruption. The corruption is not being accounted for and the diamonds are just being enjoyed by a few. The country needs to employ the Libyan oil policy. Every Libyan can testify they were beneficiaries of the oil exports. It was a transparent system that benefited the whole nation. The Zimbabwean economy will therefore continue to crumble. The GNU has failed, the dollarisation of the currency has also failed and the diamonds likewise. If we analyse the whole issue we will notice that this is all due to corruption that is deeply embedded in every sector.
