| Paul Chizuze, Human rights activist recently abducted |
Is the landscape going to be safe for the elections, is the question most of Zimbabweans want to know. Recently an activist Paul has been kidnapped, who is a close friend of the Minister of Education David Coltart. Is this abduction politically oriented or this is just a coincidence. This reminds us of the violence in the 2008 elections, where many political activists were abducted and murdered. Despite the accentuated talks by the President on non violence, there is need for concern as the Prime Minister deems this talk as insincere. Both the President and Prime Minister last year engaged in rallies to tackle this issue. It is of concern that this could be an election campaign strategy by both parties. Was this a move to silence Chizuze, who was campaigning against human rights violations, particularly the Gukurahundi genocide? This is an issue that needs to be dealt with, but this is a threat to other activists campaigning on the issue. Certainly when we think of violence, no one would want t live in fear. Who is it going to be next after Paul?
